Restoring broken "glass" on a diecast car

Here's a trick I use to replace broken glass on my diecast cars. I take the original and cover the part I want to replace with masking tape.

I then rub the tape with a pencil around the edges.

Next step is to take the tape and put it on the new piece to be cut. I use thin blister clear plastic. I also trace whatever line is missing form the original.

Cut and bend where necessary and remove the tape when you are done.

I removed the broken piece from the original glass and put the remaining piece with the new cut piece together on the car with the help of some white glue. White glue offers a strong bond and dries clear. You just have to be a little patient for drying time.
