1929 Bentley 4.5 liter Lemans Racer by Lesney

I acquired this nice example at a local flea market. The tires are from another Lesney car since the original ones were missing. I believe this car was released in 1960 in the Lesney "Models of Yesteryear" series.

The Matchbox Commuter

Being a model builder, I couldn't resist trying my luck and modifying a 1/64 scale car. I got this Matchbox #22 Commuter circa 1970 at a flea market for $0.25. I took it apart, stripped the paint with my Dremel and cleaned the glass the best I could. I then got some Centerline wheels from a Johnny Lightning donor car. It was not easy to fit on the frame but it worked. I painted the car with a spray can of Dupli-Color strawberry red and redid the chrome with Floquil super bright silver. Reassembled everything and now I have a very unique car in my collection.
